The building was part of the property of the Conti Passerini, members of the order of the Knights of Saint Stephen. It owes its name to the Grand Duke of Tuscany Pietro Leopoldo of Lorraine, who had these typical houses built in the valley during the Valdichiana Land Reclamation.
The renovation has left the original state of the building unaltered, highlighting its charm: today it is a welcoming hotel with 6 rooms and a restaurant.
